INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOGA EXERCISES

Hello, pure-hearted souls,

In the previous article, we had discussed Yoga and the benefits of doing exercises and meditations (manavalakalai).

Today, we'll see the instructions to be followed for yoga exercises. 

Instructions given for yoga exercises (Mana valakalai):
1. Yoga exercises can be done by people between the age of 8 to 80 years.
2. Exercises have to be done only on a mat or on a sheet on the floor, but should not done on bare floor.

3. Exercise is ideally done in the early morning on an empty stomach. It also can be done in the evening (if it is not possible in the morning then do only once a day). If you have had food before the exercise, then you must wait for 4 hours before exercising (in the case of solid food/ heavy foods) and 30 minutes in the case of beverages like water, tea, coffee etc..
4. You can have food, water or any other health drinks 15 mins after completion of your exercises. 

5. It is not advisable for women to exercise during their menstruation time.
6. Pregnant women can do all the exercises except 1st and 2nd stages of breathing exercises (part of vajrasanam) and the second part of magarasanam. If the women are healthy post pregnancy, they can do all the regular exercises 3 months after the delivery of their child.

7. Yoga exercises should be done with eyes closed. (But for eye exercises, the last stage of hand exercises, and the last stage of second part of magarasanam exercises, eyes can be opened. These are the exercises for which concentration is necessary where one has to see thumbs and fingers; that's where eyes should be open during the exercise.)
8. People who have had surgery done can begin/resume the exercises only after 3-4 months.

9. People suffering from cardiac trouble can do exercises under the guidance of a yoga expert.
10. People can also do exercises by referring to the yoga mana valakalai exercises book. But, it is much better if taught by a yoga expert.
11. Additionally, with the simplified kayakalpa exercises which is taught in all yoga Mana valakalai centres, it's easy to overcome many diseases .

But here is something surprising. Along with weight loss yoga also helps to relieve stress which is one of the main causes of weight gain. Virabhadrasana the warrior pose. hip opener sequence
