SANTHI (ROOT CHAKRA)MEDITATION AND ITS BENEFITS

These days we've been discussing many yoga topics one by one.


Today's topic is the Root chakra which can also be called Santhi or Mooladharam.

Let's begin:


SANTHI (ROOT CHAKRA, MOOLADHARAM):

In the previous post, we saw about AGNA and the life energy when it is brought back to its usual place (to the end of alone), which is called SANTHI. Now let's see about SANTHI MEDITATIONS AND ITS BENEFITS in detail.


This is when the life energy is brought back to its usual place called the root chakra, Moolatharam. It is believed that this is the place where our boons and sins from our ancestors, our parents, and our own from the age of 3 years are registered. This chakra is named for being grounded. By practicing this meditation regularly, one can overcome genetic/chronic disorders.

PRACTICE:

Usually, this meditation has to be practiced once a week (on Fridays) to balance our energy. When we do other meditation, we get energies from within the body and it may cause headaches when the energy level is not balanced. Hence, if we do Santhi meditation once a week, it balances the energy from the physical to the spiritual level and vice versa



WHY FRIDAY?:

Because the root chakra is connected to the energy of the planet Venus which is Sukra in Sanskrit, which is also what Friday (Sukran) is named after, this day of the week is selected for the meditation. So, doing this meditation on Friday has very good effect on us as the rays of Venus reach the root chakra, balance the energy in our body, and help us to be healthy and peaceful.

MENSTRUATION:

Women can practice this meditation during menstruation, while other times, they can do all other meditations. This meditation heals them from pain.



HEALTH:

Try to inculcate this meditation while suffering from cold, fever, etc. It will help overcome all the health issues and make you feel physically healthy.



CHAKRA ACTIVATION
:

Most people cannot feel Santhi chakra's activation like that of Agna, Thuriyam. It may take some time (days, weeks, months, and years for some) to feel it exactly, but if we regularly practice this meditation, definitely we can see many more good results in our bodies.



PEACE:

Whenever you feel anger, you can activate this chakra to bring you peace. This meditation brings us peace of mind. So whenever you feel the necessity to keep yourself protected from unwanted issues like clashes, quarrels, fights, etc, just try to activate this chakra by simply concentrating on it.
